Get ready for the upcoming season of summer with these popular alcoholic drinks that can easily be prepared with your blender. These recipes are easy and fast to make if you have one of these appliances.

Frozen daiquiri

Cool off this summer with this recipe for a frozen daiquiri. You’ll be able to throw this drink together in a few short minutes using your blender. This is a rum-based drink that has sweeteners and lime juice added to it for added flavor. Simply blend together 3/4 of a cup of rum, 2 tablespoons of honey or sugar and 1/4 of a cup of fresh lime juice. Mix the ingredients together quickly with your blender and then pour into glasses. This mixture can serve 4 people and for added delight you can garnish the top with some whipped cream and a strawberry.

Piña colada

This is also a rum-based drink that is very comforting under a hot sun. This cocktail requires ¾ of a cup rum, 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice, 3/4 cup of coconut milk and 2 tablespoons sugar. Mix this together with 1 cup of ice that has been crushed and blend until the liquid is creamy. Garnish 4 glasses with a pineapple wedge for extra effect. Your guests will appreciate the extra care you put into this drink by simply adding the fruit on the edge of the glass.

Espresso milkshake

This is a unique blender drink that is also great for the summer. In your blender mix together 3/4 cup of espresso, 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 1 cup of milk, 1/2 a cup of Kahlua and 1/2 a cup of vodka. Also add 1 1/2 cups crushed ice and then mix together until it is creamy and thick. This drink will make 4 servings that you can present to your friends on a hot summer day. For a touch of mocha taste you can pour in chocolate syrup.

Cocktail smoothie

Make your party come alive by offering a cocktail smoothie. This is another way that you can get the best use out of your blender. You can prepare your cocktail smoothie in almost any kind of blender.

Add 2 cups mango slices and 1/2 cup pineapple juice to the carafe. Continue to add 1/2 cup ice and one cup vanilla yogurt to make the cocktail smoothie creamy. Mix on high for 30 seconds or until you see that the ingredients have been well mixed. Pour in 1/4 cup vodka or rum. Either one of these alcoholic additions are perfect for a smoothie.

Frozen Margarita

These cocktails are made with tequila and crushed ice. You will also need to add 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice, 3/4 cups of tequila, 1/4 cup orange liqueur along with two or three tbsp. of sugar. The amount of sugar added will depend on how sweet you prefer your frozen margarita to be. Before mixing these ingredients together add 1 1/2 cups of crushed ice. Blend together quickly.

To make salted glasses for this frozen margarita, a lime wedge should be rubbed all along the rim of the glass and then dipped in a dish containing kosher salt. For a sweet margarita the salt can be substituted with granulated sugar.

It is quick and easy to whip together these summer drinks in a blender. If you have unexpected company show up and are caught off-guard with no drinks prepared, you can prepare these alcoholic cocktails in a few short minutes. You can also use your blender to make many other drinks containing alcohol for those hot summer days when you need a refreshing beverage.
